Through the Hamilton Halton Construction Association (HHCA), we've had the privilege of  taking part in a new trades focused workshop for high school students. This includes a presentation on Sheet Metal as an apprenticeship and an in-depth hands on lesson. Multiple trades take part in this program each semester, giving the students an equal opportunity to explore new career paths. Accompanied by a tradesperson and appropriate safety equipment, students are able to catch a glimpse of hands on trades work and fully understand their wage potential and a trades career path.

So far, we've completed workshops though Bishop Ryan Catholic Secondary School (Hamilton, ON) and Monsignor Doyle Catholic Secondary School (Cambridge, ON) , but the possibilities are endless for expansion! We also take pride in attending college job fairs so students can have an idea of what a career in the trades can look like once a little experience is gained. When communicating with students from local colleges, we gain a better understanding of the talent coming out of these programs and give them an opportunity to explore something new.
